About Us

Cocoa Black was launched in 2008 in response to consumer demand for indulgent handmade chocolates and pâtisserie.

The company is co-owned and run by Ruth Hinks. Ruth has spent much of her life working with chocolate and has trained at many of the World’s leading chocolate schools including Cacao Barry in Paris and the Carma Chocolate Academy in Zurich. In 2004, she reached the pinnacle of her profession and won Gold at the Culinary Olympics in Efurt, Germany.

Our mission at Cocoa Black is simple - to produce a range of chocolates and patisserie that can compete with the very best that Europe has to offer.
